Ruth is a Counseling Psychologist with over 18 years of practicing experience. Ruth holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and is a director at Healing Talk Counseling Services, the largest private firm that provides psychological support services for individuals and organizations in Uganda. She is also a counselor, trainer, supervisor and mentor of counseling and psychology students at Uganda Christian University.
Ruth is a certified EMDR practitioner, and has expertise in child counseling, trauma management, grief counseling and counselor supervision/training. Ruth’s involvement in international work with organizations such as UNICEF, Norwegian Refugee Council, Creative Associates International, Mercy Corps and AECOM has made her adept and sensitive to cross-cultural differences in her practice. This is apparent in her ability to curate evidence-based programs to address the needs of a diverse range of clientele, including TOT for Psychological First Aid with AECOM (South Sudan) and Crisis Management in conflict areas with Creative Associates International (Nigeria).
